My first panoramic drawing was inspired on one of my trips back to my home town Basel.
It was New Years Day in 2005 when I arrived staying in the Hotel Kraft looking out from my window seeing St. Martins Church diagonally across the Rhein where I sang in the boys choir and reminisced and thought that one day I will draw this panoramic view. In 2009 I finally started this drawing.
Using photos for reference, I selected an annual celebration called the 'Vogel Gryff', where the 'Wild Man' dances on a cannon firing raft, back turned to Big Basel as he floats down the Rhein to meet the 'Lion' and the 'Vogel Gryff' where they all dance to individual drum beats on the 'Mittlere Bruecke'.
